The Cyber Fair, an event spearheaded by Digitel DSL plus in partnership with SM City Naga, E-Games, and Redfox held last August 14, 15 and 16, 2009 at the ground floor of the SM City Naga. It consisted of the Online Experience (August 14), Anime Dance Contest (August 15), and the Anime Costume Contest (August 16).
I was really looking forward in attending this said affair; unfortunately it didn’t go quite well. I was not able to part take in the Online Experience and Anime Dance Contest so I wouldn’t be able to comment about it, however I was there on the 16th.
The Cosplay was what I was really there for, and I was really excited about it. I could have entered as well (maybe) only if I have learned about it earlier. I have only known about the said event a week or so prior to the affair via an ad aired on a radio station.
Going back to the contest, there wasn’t any at all. It had been forfeited since there weren’t enough participants. According to one of the employees there who was cosplaying, there were only two participants. Yes, there were still those who have cosplayed, three of them in fact, but they were employees and it was their role in the event. In short, they we’re cosplaying for the sake of cosplay. Though, I was quite pleased with them since they have worn their costume quite proudly. I am even thankful that they have agreed to strike a pose for a picture.
Still I was truly disappointed of the turnout and I was wondering why it had been like that. Maybe it would have been better if there had been more publicity done about the activity.
Hopefully another one like this would be successfully held.
Thanks for the article! Yeah… I hope that better activities and events be held in the near future.
yes, I do hope too that there would better activities and events like this…
It was so great that Naga City is prospering! As what I had remembered, Naga is an old city in the Philippines where infrastructures are few. But now, look at it! It is not anymore left behind by other cities in conducting activities like this… Kudos Naga City!! 😛
Yes indeed! It seems hard to recall what Naga was before. (^_^;)
Things are moving forward, which is cool! 😀
is this event going to happen this year?? any news on it?
I have no news on it yet. I hope it would happen again this year, and hopefully, it becomes a more successful one.
