The Burj Dubai opened today – and it is definitely something to reconsider your fear of heights for. Standing at 2,684 feet or 818 meters The Burj Dubai easily takes the prize for being the tallest building in the world and is unlikely to be beaten for a very long time.
This $1.5 Billion project has at least 160 floors, and was started in 2004.
The construction of the building is part of the country’s efforts to get past recent corporate crisis and strengthen its attraction and reputation as a regional and worldwide hub for business.
The N. 2 office building in the world: Taipei 101 in Taiwan, is more than 500 meters high. Burj Dubai is also the world’s tallest structure, exceeding the height of a TV tower in North Dakota, and the tallest free-standing structure, taller than the CN Tower in Toronto.
For more information on the tower, visit their website at http://www.burjdubai.com
