Made to Hit in America

Made to Hit In America

800×600 | 1024×768

In case you can’t read (and you don’t know the song) the text is “I was made to hit in America,” from the song “Hit in the USA” by the Beat Crusaders, the opening song for Beck Mongolian Chop Squad. Those people are the members of the band, Beck.

I haven’t made a wallpaper in a while, and got some creative inspiration from watching this series. It’s a good show, and the music are also wonderful. Some are infectious and can get stuck in your head for days. ^_~

This took me some time, but not more than three hours. A little critique from Ichi Haze for the final touches, and here it is.

More people should really watch Beck. ^_^

Takoyakis the size of Cannon balls

By Jomz on June 11, 2009

Tenku Bakudanyaki

Yeah…. you read it right. They’re practically the size of cannon balls. A friend told me that he got a taste of this and it was amazing. What interests me more, though is the size and the things they put in there. This one completely shadows your ordinary takoyakis. It ain’t cheap though. XD

Friendster’s Not so Friendly Updates

By Jomz on June 10, 2009

I rarely use friendster.  I probably go there to keep in touch with my friends – who seem to enjoy the features that the said site has to offer. I think they prefer to send private messages over there than send me e-mails…

Well, there’s nothing much wrong with that, I guess…

Recently, though, one of it’s latest updates got me a bit bothered.  What do you think of comments to other people being broadcasted to your entire network of friends…

From my perspective, I don’t think that is  a very good idea.  Most of the comments that people post to their network friends are semi-personal.  Semi, being that it is out for everyone to see – but only if you visit the said person who was commented on. But by broadcasting to everyone, it seems like what can be considered as telling someone something, is transformed to being broadcasted everywhere.

I see comments on my page on topics that are a bit personal… and that also makes me cautious with what comments I place.  I now tend to post comments that are fine for everyone of my acquaintances to see.  If I have something – which I feel personal, I just send them a private message.  I think that’s what you might call as “Spam Comments”?  Youtube actyally has a similar feature, however in youtube, everyone who visits your profile page can see the comments that you left on someone’s video.

You must be thinking that there is nothing wrong with this.  Sure, if someone receives a comment, you must probably prefer not heading off to their page to read the comment, and having it in your home page is much more convenient.  You immediately know what comments they get… those kinds of stuff, right? Well, if you look at it that way, then there is really nothing bad about it that much.  After all, this is a “friend” system made to let everyone know what you are up to – even those who don’t care about whatever it is that you are doing… > >

What about the friend ranking then? XXX is now YYY ‘s no. 1 friend! What about that, eh?

Coming from someone who is not so good about picking favorites, this really ticked me off… I moved my featured friends around because I think the position suits them better… later, I saw an activity in my home page about a similar event… hmm… That’s when I learned that those Featured Friends are actually ranked! The top left is your number one friend, while the rest are ranked up to your number sixth friend.

What would you feel about being someone’s no. [-insert random number here-] friend? I had a little positive opinion on the Featured Friends list, for it allows people to know who your close friends are… but placing number ranks on them? I don’t think that’s the best way to place it… What if I got two best friends, huh? What would my other best friend think if I placed on ahead of the other (due to alphabetical sorting or other random means)?

Well, those are just some of my ideas on the features of the site… What do you think about them?

A.D.D Kitteh

ADD Kitteh

A.D.D. Kitteh

I was randomly surfing for amusing images and this caught my attention… I can somehow relate to it… I mean, how many times have you got your train of thought interrupted by something random? Shiny objects? A string? Yeah… =_=
This happens to me a lot… I may be walking down a street and something strange might catch my attention – sometimes it’s a shiny object.  I’ll try pointing it out to others, but they seldom notice it too. Bummer.

Did you have a distracting moment yourself? Was it fun or the other way around? 😛
